Personal Improvement : What’s It Like to Have a Coach?
Having a coach is like having your own personal navigator for your life's journey.
The coach helps you chart your course and reach your destination. Imagine having someone in your corner who is totally committed to your success. Someone who always encourages the powerful part of you, who sees how big you can be, and constantly holds up that big image for you even when you can't hold it up for yourself.
Imagine a relationship that places the total focus on you. A relationship with someone who helps you clarify your dreams, aspirations, passions, and values. Someone who helps you celebrate your victories and learn from your setbacks as you press on toward achieving your goals together.
Consider the benefits of having regular conversations with a skilled, trained professional who really listens to you and not just your words but to your emotions, your energy, and even the spaces between your words.
A coach is a professional who provides a ‘safe' place for you to move beyond superficial, inhibited, self-limiting conversations, so you have the confidence to express doubts and even fears. A coach is someone who helps you gain the tools and strength you need to defeat the attitudes and behaviors that have sabotaged your past success and created stress in your life.
Imagine having a trustworthy, confidential relationship with someone who will absolutely tell you the truth, the truth about where you are strong, and where you sell yourself short. Someone who knows your values and your life purpose, and will help you hold yourself true to them. Someone who will accept everything you communicate without judgment, always seeking to draw out the very best in you.
A qualified coach will:
- help you identify and articulate your dreams for your life
- hold you accountable for your actions (or lack of action)
- help you define what success means to you
- help you identify what is really important
- help you measure your progress
- help you set long-term and short-term goals to help you work toward the fulfillment of your dreams
- help you close the gap between where you are and where you want to be
- brainstorm with you
- help you recognize that you have a lot more potential than you are using today and helps you discover how to use it
- encourage and support you
- help you try new things and master new skills
- help you uncover what you already know, but aren't applying, to help you achieve results
- help you identify and remove the obstacles that are getting in your way
- listen to you
- help identify your personal motivators
- celebrate your successes with you!
- help you identify your strengths and capitalize on them
- help you identify your limitations and minimize them
- challenge you
- introduce you to new ways of thinking
- keep you focused
You can achieve significant results and live your life more purposefully, improve your attitude and motivation to succeed, increase your self-awareness, set and reach your goals more consistently, and ultimately, become even more of who you are and want to be!
So who can benefit from having a coach? Anyone not satisfied with their current situation and results or who is lacking a clear sense of direction. And anyone who is going through change, which includes just about all of us! So give us a call to learn more about what it would be like for you to have a coach.
